ABSTRACT
GUIDELINES
How? All abstracts must be submitted by email
at lgsa_research@asu.edu
Where? Each abstract should be submitted to this
email address.
If joint sponsorship is appropriate for the presentation or paper,
please note it.
Who? Any graduate or undergraduate student
may submit an abstract for consideration.
Informal presentations on topics of interest to students will also be
accepted. Presentations will be ten
minutes followed by five minutes for audience questions or comments. If you plan to use powerpoint, please indicate your intent in your
email. Media requests need to be made by
Jan. 15th.
Abstract deadline December 30,
2006.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance by January 7,
2007.
Panel assignments will be sent out by January 15, 2007.
Abstracts need
to include the following information:
Title of presentation/paper/dissertation
proposal/poster
Name, affiliation, mailing address, telephone
number and email address
Other authors
Brief rationale describing the
theoretical grounding of the presentation and its relevance to graduate
research.
Abstract not to exceed 200 words. Email yama814@asu.edu if you have any questions

Faculty or students willing to serve as
moderators or discussants should indicate their interest to Viola Fuentes by
emailing lgsa_research@asu.edu.
Guidelines below ONLY for papers being submitted for publication
consideration.
LGSA is in the process of establishing an electronic journal during
spring 2007.
1. An abstract
of 100 to 200 words.
2. A final
paper should deal explicitly with as many of the following as are
applicable, preferably in this order:
a. objectives or
purposes;
b. perspective(s)
or theoretical framework;
c. methods,
techniques, or modes of inquiry;
d. data sources
or evidence;
e. results and/or
conclusions/point of view; and
f. educational or scientific importance of
the study.
Please indicate if you wish your paper to be
considered for publication. Only those full length papers that include all the
components listed above will be eligible for publication. Reading
time of final papers is limited to 15 minutes (6-8 doubled-spaced pages). No papers will be read in absentia.
