For most ASU students, a day where your mom makes fun of your sex life on the radio and you casually meet Alice Cooper would be out of the ordinary. However, for Paul "The Claw" Lucie, this might not be so uncommon.

The 22-year-old Interdisciplinary Studies senior is the morning promotions van driver for Phoenix FM radio station 98 KUPD. Lucie is known to most KUPD morning listeners as "The Claw," and can be heard on the radio every morning during the week.

The nickname was thought up when Lucie began driving the van last summer. A bear claw tattoo on his chest sparked the nickname and it stuck.

The only lights "The Claw" sees as he walks into work are from the nearby expressway and streetlights. At five in the morning Monday through Friday Lucie can be found at the KUPD studio in Guadalupe discussing the day’s events with disk jockey Dave Pratt and the rest of the morning show hosts.
