When one of these arrives, however, the film's reign over its less deserving counterparts is shown through constant references and is often spoofed in comedies. Such is the case with The Star Wars Trilogy, which has movie fans counting down the days until its upcoming prequel is released. Star Wars has influenced so many filmmakers and many of them have paid their respects by poking fun at the film, some even dedicating a whole movie to do so. The best example is Spaceballs, which was released in 1987. |
