Thursday, Sept. 2

Art: The Big Parade: Editorial Cartoons by Reg Manning. Cartoons by the Arizona Republic cartoonist from 1964-1981. Luhrs Gallery, Hayden Library, ASU main campus. Ongoing.

Art: Of Hats and Headwear: Status, Tradition and Glamour. Exhibit of the evolution of headwear, from the 19th century to the present. Fashion Design Gallery, Phoenix Art Museum, 1625 N. Central Ave., Phoenix. Runs through Sept. 12.

Dance: Swing night, with live music by the Kings of Pleasure. Dance lessons, followed by live swing band performance. The Bash on Ash, Tempe. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. $7 cover. All ages welcome.

Museum: Mimbres -- Lives and Landscapes. An archeological and anthropological look at the society and envioronment of the prehistoric Mimbres culture, which thrived from AD 1000 to AD 1150 in part of what is now New Mexico. Museum of Anthropology, Anthropology Building, ASU main campus. Ongoing.

Friday, Sept. 3
