This side up!

Letter from the Editor

Welcome back, dear readers, to another season of great entertainment news here in the State Press Magazine, ASU's own eye on the world of music, movies and everything in between.

Features

Sister Hazel blends music and charity

The members of Florida-based rock band Sister Hazel embodies many of the same altruistic characteristics that of the person the band was named after.

Sister Hazel takes their name from an African-American female minister who has run a rescue mission since the early '70's. Home to drug addicts, alcoholics, and a place for those down and out to get back on their feet, the unconditional open door sister Hazel Williams has kept for people carries over to the multiple organizations the band supports.

Snot -- not just buggers

If pinning your boss on the floor and spitting in his face are things you think about; then maybe you should pick up Snot's debut album Get Some. If these are activities you don't consider engaging in, but can laugh about, Snot still may be right up your alley.

Rent: a lovestory of the nineties

At Gammage Auditorium, a sold out crowd for the opening night of the Broadway musical now touring, Rent, witnessed the multi-racial, multi-sexual world of New York's downtown which was brought to stage with sensitivity and affection.

Opinion Cafe

The other day I was bored so I decided to visit a fortune teller. Perhaps this sounds a bit absurd, but there was a perfectly good reason for going - so that I would know all of the entetaiment juice soon to happen for 1998- now.
