- In some parts of the world, communities are battling famine and homelessness.
In other places, citizens are dealing with the threat of war.
Last week, a student who thought her car was stolen last year received
a call from ASU police saying that a towing company had the vehicle all
along.
It was a civil battle. Four students argued whether to maintain or destroy
the Associated Students of ASU at a forum Wednesday in the Memorial Union.
- Addressing issues of warfare, nuclear weapons and the role of the United
Nations in international politics, former U.S. ambassador to the United
Nations Jeanne Kirkpatrick spoke to a group of students in the Honors College
Wednesday.

Sports News
After nearly a month-long hiatus from tournament action, the ASU men's
golf team is jumping back into the saddle this weekend in Las Vegas.
The No. 1 ASU women's golf team shot the low round of the week, a five-over
par 301, Wednesday to win the Spartan Invitational in Monterey, Calif.
There was Pat Tillman -- the Sun Devils' top linebacker, leading tackler
and 1997 Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year -- in unfamiliar territory,
backpedaling and catching passes with strong safety Damien Richardson and
fellow secondary partners Jason and Thomas Simmons.
The birds are singing, El Niño has finally took its ugliness
elsewhere, the bright Arizona sun is bringing fantastic spring-like weather
once again and the crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd can be heard
practically everywhere you go.
