Residents argue over lake's uses: "If they build it, we will come," Virgil Chambers said. And, no doubt, they will come to the 220-acre, $4.5 million Tempe Town Lake -- filled this Spring. But exactly what they can bring with them is still up for debate. Chambers, the executive director for the National Safe Boating Council, led a discussion Tuesday at the Tempe Public Library about what types of recreation would be permissible on the waters of the new lake.

Violent crimes during 1997 increased in Tempe When a Tempe woman entered her second-story apartment in July of 1997, she found her 21-year-old roommate near death. The roommate had sustained head injuries and had marks on her neck. Her pants were pulled down, although police initially were not able to determine whether she had been sexually assaulted.

ASASU debuting its own teacher evaluations this semester This semester, the Associated Students of ASU will be using teacher evaluations to find out what students in lower-division classes think about the quality of education they are receiving.

Deadline for requests is noon the day before publication and entries will not be accepted more than three working days before publication. Only one entry per organization per day is permitted.
