About Us

What do we do!
The Student Code of Conduct is designed to balance the rights and needs of the individual with the responsibility of the individual to meet the needs of the community. In keeping with this mission, the Judicial Affairs staff reviews allegations of student misconduct, determines whether a violation has occurred and if applicable, imposes appropriate sanctions. The Judicial Affairs staff strives to find resolutions to allegations of student misconduct through the use of mediation techniques, and other sanctions, as permitted, which aid in the students overall personal development.

How we do it!

As mentioned above, the staff reviews allegations of student misconduct. This fact-finding includes dialogue with:

  • students
  • organizational representatives
  • residence hall staff
  • university police
  • faculty
  • other relevant university personnel
Resolution is sought through the use of:
  • mediation
  • natural and logical consequences
  • individual meetings
  • educational programming
  • campus and community referrals
  • university hearing
