Student Risk Management

Services Offered for Students and Student Organizations

Student Risk Management encourages student leaders as well as faculty and staff advisors to collaborate on the creation of student organization environments that support members and leaders in their decision-making processes. Additionally, outreach efforts focus on the empowerment of students to make intelligent, fair and reasonable choices within the boundaries established by state, federal or local laws, Arizona State University Code of Conduct as well as institutional policies, and the educational mission of Arizona State University. Services include:

Individual consulting with student leaders and advisors on issues related to: event planning, fiscal planning, designing performance standards, conflict management, documenting operations procedures for events, as well as other organization development needs
Linking students with campus and community risk management and event planning related resources
Assistance with identifying and navigating university policies, procedures and protocols related to insurance and contracts
Review and evaluation of pre-event planning for major campus events and/or those events that are high risk
Presentations for student organizations on topics such as risk management, effective decision making, hazing, conflict management, hosting events with alcohol, higher education legal trends, fundraising, budget design, marketing plans, retreat planning, designing strategic initiatives, planning safe travel, as well as strategies for complying with university policies, rules, and procedures
