Issues involving minors may arise in a variety of contexts. Sometimes we invite minors to campus for events or programming or as admitted students. Sometimes we know they will be present, although we have not expressly invited them, as when students or employees bring their children to campus workplaces, classrooms, libraries, student unions, and sports and entertainment facilities. Other times minors invite themselves to ride bikes, swim, skateboard or attend parties in campus housing. Some examples of liability relate to the problems that can arise when very young children visit a campus physically designed for adults. Other potential areas of liability exposure may also apply to older minors, including college and university students who are under the age of 18. ~ Nancy Tribbensee, Kids on Campus – Legal Considerations, 2005
