Out of the mouths of......ASU Students with Children!

Do you have any advice for incoming students who are parents?

"Build a good relationship with your child care provider. Make sure they know your family details so they can provide the best care for your children. Read to your kids every day. Meet them for lunch. Volunteer at their school when you can. Study when they sleep and bring your books with you to the park. And good luck!"

"Be prepared to work hard!!!  You have to really want to succeed because life is so stressful as a parent and student. Spend all the time you can with your family because when school gets hectic your children will be more understanding of you being gone if you spend truly quality time with them normally;

" Learn to manage your time to achieve results in school and family life."

Quote of the month, September 2009

"My hunch is that anyone who has ever been able to sustain good work has had at least one person--and often many --who have believed in him or her.  We just don't get to be competent human beings without a lot of different investments from others." Fred Rogers
