Only 4 years old, Las Casas is a recent addition to ASU West campus – one which offers a number of activities and friendships to make your college experience unforgettable. Besides the convenience of living within a 3 minute walk of classes, faculty, the library and other campus activities – residents will enjoy apartment style living and will spend far less than they would by living off campus.
On-campus activities abound. Intramural and club sports, athletic facilities, and hiking and cycling trails nearby. Student organizations offer a variety of political, musical, academic, special interest, social, and socially-conscious activities. Performances, plays and open mikes provide outlets for performers. And guest writers, entertainers, musicians, politicians, educators, and others fill evenings and minds. Just minutes away in Phoenix and Scottsdale, one of the world's most desirable tourist destinations offers much, much more.
Las Casas is located directly across the street from the Department of Public Safety (DPS). The DPS provides 24 hour police coverage. A complete list of services can be found on their WEB site at http://www.asu.edu/dps/. In addition, Las Casas has a live-in full time Director of Residence Life and ten full time students who serve as Resident Advisors. This staff provides 24 hour response to student concerns, community disturbances, and emergencies.
Students who are living in the Las Casas can access campus computing systems and the Internet through high speed Ethernet, cable modem, wireless, or dial-up via (the campus network).
