Getting your books, stereo, clothes and other necessities of life to ASU has never been easier. A coordinated effort between The UPS Store® and UPS® allows you to ship your belongings as early as two weeks in advance of your arrival.

Here is how it works:

Moving Boxes:

When choosing boxes for shipping, UPS recommends choosing boxes with a minimum bursting strength of 200lbs. Boxes purchased at a storage facility or home improvement warehouse usually do not meet this requirement. Boxes that you use for shipping need to hold up to the rigors of traveling through a hub system. We offer convenient box kits through our Home2Home website or you can go to your local The UPS Store to purchase your supplies.

The cost includes shipping the kit to your home.

Preparing your shipment: Before you ship your possessions to ASU, you’ll need to pack them carefully. Please follow UPS recommended packaging guidelines UPS recommended packaging guidelines in order to make sure your items arrive safely.

Make sure to update/confirm your hall and room assignment BEFORE shipping your packages.

When you schedule your UPS home pick up, log back into this system and click on "notify The UPS Store at ASU" One of our associates will give you a call. Be prepared to provide size (Height x Length x Width) and weight of each box. You will also need to provide a brief description of contents and declared value of each box.

**Packages must be received at The UPS Store at ASU no later than 8/4/11 to insure delivery to your room.

Packing not your thing? The packing experts at your neighborhood The UPS Store can help: Take your belongings to your nearest location for packaging.

Whether you use Home2Home or ship your items on your own, make sure to ask for your tracking information to be emailed to you. You will need this information to retrieve your packages.

  • Shipping your belongings: If you do not use our Home2Home service, you can take your boxes to your local The UPS Store. They will process your packages and
    • Keep a copy of your Parcel Shipping Order (PSO) and ask The UPS Store to provide e-mail notification of your tracking number to you. You will need a copy of your tracking number to claim your packages at ASU.
    • Insure your possessions for their replacement value.
    • Ship to your packages to your assigned Residence Hall address as directed in your residence hall room assignment letter using your mailbox assignment and address. A small handing fee will be charged to students that do not have a mailbox with The UPS Store®. Please contact The UPS Store® prior to shipping your items if you will not be living on campus.
    • You can ship on multiple dates, yet all of your packages will be available for pick up after you have picked up your mailbox key.
  • Retrieving your belongings: Bring your tracking number and/or Parcel Shipping Order to ASU to receive your packages.
    • At the pick-up point (Palo Verde or Hassayampa), you will be charged a nominal fee* and asked to sign for receipt of your packages.
    • Hand trucks will be available for rent to help you get your packages to your residence.

*Receiving Fees:
There is no additional charge for students who live in University Housing to receive packages at The UPS Store locations that are addressed to their mailbox number or if you use Home2Home. The following receiving fees apply only to students that do not live on campus, but who may still take advantage of the special Move in shipping. Please notify The UPS Store in advance if you do not live on campus, but will be receiving your packages at either the north or south campus locations. Please make sure to note on your package “Hold For Pickup” if you plan on shipping to The UPS Store, but do not currently have a mailbox. 

General Receiving Fee: $5.00 per package

Hand Truck Rentals Available: $1.00 per hour (Valid ID Required)
