Late Charges: ASU charges late fees for any balances owed to the University and not paid within 30 days of the initial due date. Additional late fees will be assessed if these amounts are not paid within 30 to 90 days of the first late fee. Collection agency fees may be added to amounts due, and ASU in its discretion may evict a student for failure to make payment or for consistent delinquency.
All cancellation requests must be in writing.
Cancellations received WITHIN 15 days of assignment receive a full refund, except for the $125 non-refundable application processing fee. If the assignment date is within 15 days of residence hall opening, the cancellation must be made prior to the date the residence halls open to receive the refund. For cancellations received AFTER 15 days of assignment, the following applies.
If cancellation is received (postmarked, faxed or delivered):

June 1 through the Saturday prior to Hall Opening (Fall) or January 1 to the Saturday prior to Hall Opening (new Spring students)
A $300 late cancellation fee is charged.
Any room payments made will be refunded less any outstanding ASU charges.
If the student is not attending ASU and fails to cancel prior to hall opening, the student’s room assignment is cancelled and a $500 fee is charged.
If the student fails to cancel prior to check-in date and is attending ASU, student will be held financially responsible for all room and board charges and will be required to petition for release through the License Agreement Release process.
After checking in (requires an approved written License Agreement Release*)
Room charges are re-calculated based on the daily room rate from the date the residence halls open (or the date of assignment, whichever is later) until the date of checkout. Total room charges will not exceed the semester room rate. There will be no refund if the release is approved after the eighth week of classes.
A $75 license agreement release processing fee is assessed for all approved License Agreement Releases. Room charges will be recalculated using the room daily rates. Additional charges may apply depending upon the nature of the license agreement release.
