Frequently Asked Questions

Community Service Program (CSP) General Information:

  • What programs does the CSP offer?
The Community Service Program offers many programs year round. Our most popular service initiatives include the annual Fall Service Plunge, Hunger and Homelessness Week, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, Alternative Spring Break, Devils in Disguise and many more! Contact the CSP office for more information.
  • I'm interested in getting involved in service ~ where do I start?
Start by contacting the CSP office to start your service plunge! The next three steps are:
    1. Identify what kind of opportunity you are interested in topically (homelessness, children, elderly, animals, etc.)
    2. Determine what type of time you have to offer (short term v. long term, one day v. once a week for the semester)
    3. Look at what you'd like to get out of the service (resume building, experience in your field, building a new skill, etc.)
The CSP staff can help navigate you through these first three steps and then you can use our short-term listings and long term service offerings to find out what suits your interests and needs.
  • Does CSP list service internships?
No. For more information on how to post internships, please email us at volunteer@asu.edu
  • How can I find out about current service events?
Subscribe to SERVE@asu.edu, a service listserv for students that posts all the current service information about events and opportunities. Also, check out our website on a regular basis or, feel free to Changemaker Central on the first floor the Memorial Union for current service opportunities.
