Join us for a special ASU premiere of ‘America the Beautiful’ by Darryl Roberts. In America the Beautiful, we learn secrets, confessions, and strikingly harsh realities as Roberts unearths the origins and deadly risks of our nation’s quest for physical perfection. Follow Darryl as he asks Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, Aisha Tyler, Anthony Kedis, Tisha Campbell, Julianne Moore, Michael Beach, Mena Suvari, Martin Short, as well as Ted Casablanca from the E! Channel and Susan Schulz, the Editor-in-Chief of Cosmo Girl! along with various other celebrities and experts in cosmetics, fashion, media, and self-esteem the major question at hand…

Does America have an unhealthy obsession with beauty?


The movie will be followed by a Question & Answer session with the director, Darryl Roberts.

Featuring resource tables staffed by various departments and student organizations around campus to promote body acceptance, media literacy, and healthy living. Highlights include body image and eating disorder panels and live dance demos.

Hear personal stories from people who have survived and recovered from various eating disorders. This informational discussion will help friends and family members understand the complexity of eating disorders and provide hope to those struggling with body image & eating issues that recovery is possible.

Join us for a Healthy Eating Demonstration at Engrained within the MU. Watch step-by-step instructions for healthy recipes that you can do at home. This demonstration will be presented by the Executive Chef of Engrained, Jerome Fresinier.

9 a.m. – 5 p.m. various locations around campus
Come make a huge difference for someone else! Donate your jeans and other gently used clothing at any one of the following locations – Campus Health, ICA, MU, SRC, Student Services Building, 8 Residence Halls – PV East, PV West, PV Main, Best, HAV, Sonora, Ocotillo and Towers.Your donation will help people in need at HomeBase Youth Services.

Various handouts and brochures about body image, eating disorders, and campus wellness resources will be featured on the information tables.
