Multicultural Student Services
Student Involvement and Leadership
The
Multicultural Student Center’s student
coalitions and organizations provide cultural
programming, academic support, and leadership
development to multicultural students. The
Student Coalitions are the umbrella groups for
many student organizations designed to serve
the African American, American Indian, Asian
American/Pacific Islander, and
Hispanic/Latino/Chicano student communities.
The student coalitions and organizations
sponsored by the MSC include:
- Adelante supports
incoming freshmen, specifically Latino,
Chicano, and Hispanic students.

Taking Initiative on Success
(N.A.T.I.O.N.S.) builds
and nurtures the Native American freshman
community at ASU.
- Students Taking Action to Reach
Success (STARS) supports
incoming freshmen, specifically African
American students, to have a successful first
year at ASU by addressing the five points of
the star: academic enrichment,
leadership development, career information,
community service, and social
interaction.
- Students Toward Educational Progress
(STEP), is a multicultural honor
society committed to academic excellence and
community service.
