Summer Transition Programs

Multicultural Student Services offers three unique opportunities for young people to participate in a first year multicultural summer experience. These programs give students a level of comfort and confidence to maneuver through the university and exciting college experience. The programs have various outcomes of success for any student interested in a multicultural student experience. Workshops offered through the summer programs develop and enhance leadership skills and expose students to research and critical thinking proficiencies. Students who participate in transitional summer program experiences have higher rates of success in retention, returning and graduation. Multicultural Student Services has the right program for you!

Asian LEAD Academy

Designed to provide academic support and leadership skills, the Asian LEAD Academy conducts activities for students with a focus on Asian culture. Leadership skills are improved and strengthened through the use of public speaking, debate, mock trial, career planning, and other hands-on activities and field trips. Students become familiar with Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures, history, and current issues through research and presentations. The Asian LEAD Academy has motivated students to aspire to higher education and take leadership roles within their student communities. The program is a non-residential program for high school students in 10th-12th grade and graduating high school seniors. Admittance into ASU is not necessary.
