Allan Markus M.D., M.S., M.B.A., F.A.C.P., Director Campus Health Service
Allan Markus

Dr. Markus is a board-certified Internist who has worked in training resident physicians in practicing medicine and most recently came from running the Mercy Health Care Center at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. While there he was a co-founder of the St. Joseph's Hospital Breast Evaluation and Treatment Center for low income women with breast cancer or other breast diseases.

Dr. Markus is an AOA honor graduate of New Jersey Medical School and received his Master's in Management and Master's in Business Administration from University of Maryland University College. He volunteers his time each month with the Flying Samaritans Los Amigos Chapter which provides medical care for patients in rural Mexico. His interests include teaching medical students, going on bike rides with his wife and kids, and computer informatics. He also holds a position as Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine here in Phoenix.

Stefanie Schroeder, M.D. Chief of Medical Staff
Stefanie Schroeder

Dr. Schroeder has been the Chief of Medical Staff at ASU Campus Health Service since July 2004. She was the Medical Director of a large volume Emergency Department in Mesa prior to coming to ASU. She is board certified in Emergency Medicine and has practiced Emergency Medicine for 10 years. Dr. Schroeder is licensed to practice acupuncture and runs a clinic at the Campus Health Service on three afternoons per week.

Besides her administrative duties she sees patients in the Urgent Care Clinic at the ASU Health Service on 2 afternoons a week. Her goal is to have a top-notch clinical staff providing excellent health care to ASU students, and to integrate allopathic medicine with complementary medicine when appropriate.

Alan Andresen, M.D.
Alan Andresen

Alan J. Andresen, M.D. is a staff physician at ASU Campus Health and Wellness Center. He has been on staff since 1997 on a full and part time basis. He graduated medical school from the University Autonomous de Guadalajara and did his internship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his Family Practice Residency at the York Medical and Trauma Hospital in York, Pa., where he served as Chief Resident as well. Dr. Andresen, M.D. works in the Acute Care Clinic and enjoys working with students in the university setting.

Denise Beighe, M.D.
Denise Beighe

Dr. Beighe is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. She started working at the ASU Campus Health Service in 1993. Her training included Medical School at Hahnemann University from which she graduated in 1985, residency in Internal Medicine in Abington, PA, which she completed in 1988, and a fellowship in Rheumatology at Temple University.

Dr. Beighe is married and has one son.

Valerie Brodsky, D.O.
Valerie Brodsky

Dr. Brodsky moved here from Chicago in 2005. She practices internal medicine and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and attended the University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate studies. She then attended medical school at Midwestern University in Chicago followed by an internal medicine residency at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston Massachusetts. After residency she and her husband Adam returned to Chicago where she practiced internal medicine with a multispecialty group while he completed a four year cardiology fellowship. Upon completion of her husband's fellowship the couple explored several cities for opportunities and lifestyles and decided to make the move to Phoenix. They are both enjoying their work and new lives in Phoenix and are excited to call this home. Dr. Brodsky particularly enjoys seeing patients with cardiac, gastrointestinal, and mood disorders.

Harold Cohen, M.D.
Harold Cohen

Harold Cohen is specialty trained in Internal Medicine and Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, with a special interest in rendering adolescent medicine in the acute care setting.

Debra Cooper D.O.
Debra Cooper

Dr. Cooper graduated from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. She then completed her residency in Family Medicine at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida. She is board certified in Family Medicine and in Healthcare Quality Management. Prior to coming to ASU she ran a solo rural practice in Wyoming where she did full-spectrum Family Medicine including obstetrics. For the past five years she has worked in emergency and urgent care medicine. Her clinical special interests include public health and preventive medicine.

Dale Crawford, M.D.
Dale Crawford

Dr. Crawford is board certified in Family Practice Medicine. She went to Medical School at the University of New Mexico and did her family practice residency in San Bernardino, California. Dr. Crawford started working at the ASU's Campus Health Service in 1995.

J.Todd Davis M D.
J. Todd Davis

Dr. Davis was the first fellow at Arizona State University and after completing his fellowship he joined the faculty at Arizona State University. He will stay on as the team physician for womens soccer. He was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He received a B.S. in Biological Sciences/Pre-Med from Ohio University and completed medical school at Ohio State University in June 2000. In June 2003, he completed his family practice residency at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborne in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Davis currently is in the process of starting a private family/sports medicine practice in Chandler, AZ where he lives. He has covered Chandler High school sports since his second year of residency and continues to increase his involvement in the Chandler community.

When not covering or watching sports, Dr Davis spends his free time with his two little boys, Austin and Alex. His wife, Becky, is a stay at home mom but finds time for her business with the Pampered Chef © and is on the Board of Directors for the Chandler Moms Club.

Dale Ann Dorsey

Steven Erickson

Dr. Erickson is currently the head team physician and sports medicine fellowship director at Arizona State University. A native of Tucson, AZ, he completed his undergraduate and medical school education at the University of Arizona. He then moved to Phoenix where he did his internal medicine residency at St. Joseph's hospital. After residency he spent 18 months in the sports medicine fellowship at Ball Memorial hospital in Muncie, IN. He returned to Phoenix to work as part time faculty at Arizona State University and assistant team physician for the Arizona Diamondbacks. In fall of 2000 he was hired as the head team physician at ASU and in July 2003 he started the primary care sports medicine fellowship at ASU. Dr. Erickson also serves as a medical consultant to Major League Baseball umpires.

He is the proud father of triplet girls Katie, Lindsey, and Nikki who are now 7 years old. His wife Laurie is an OB/GYN in group practice in Phoenix with Maricopa OB/GYN Associates.

Deborah Garland

Deborah R. Garland grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona and attended Arizona State University. She graduated with a degree in Nutrition with a minor in Biochemistry. After attending the University of Arizona College of Medicine she completed a Family Practice residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. She is board certified in Family Practice. She began working at Arizona State University in 1990 and has been a team physician in Intercollegiate Athletics since 1993. In addition to working at Intercollegiate Athletics and the Campus Health Center she also works at the Student Health center at the Polytechnic (East) campus.

Her husband Ed and 2 daughters Stephanie and Amanda have been true sundevil fans over the years. Stephanie is currently attending Arizona State University, and Amanda is a junior in high school.

Stanford Ho, M.D.
Stanford Ho

Stanford Ho (Stan) lived in Simi Valley, California, for the last three years, where he practiced primary care internal medicine at Kaiser Permanente. He has an active interest in health education and preventive medicine. He attended medical school and completed his residency at University of California, San Francisco, and subsequently worked for a year as a hospital-based physician in Kansas. Dr. Ho is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He is able to communicate in Mandarin and some medical Spanish. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, hiking with his canine companion, Charlie, cooking, and practicing classical piano/violin.

Connie Kessler, FNP
Conie Kessler

Connie received her Bachelor's and Master's degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Family Practice. Her special interests are Asthma, and preventive Medicine. She is a member of the Preventive Cardiology Nurses Association. As part of her studies she completed a three-month preceptorship in Chinle, AZ on the Navajo Indian Reservation; and also volunteered in the cardiac rehabilitation program at Vanderbilt. Connie started working at the ASU Campus Health Service in 1988.

Connie is married and they have a son named Gabriel. She enjoys tennis, biking and hiking.

Roger McCoy M.D.

Dr. McCoy has been a team physician at ASU since 1994. He's been the Head Primary Care Sports Medicine team physician for the Arizona Diamondbacks since 1996 when the team had only minor league affiliates. He received his sports medicine fellowship training at Michigan State University and passed his Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Family Practice. He has a busy private practice in the valley entailing both sports medicine and primary care. In addition, Dr. McCoy was flattered to be recently voted as one of the 2006 “Top Docs” by Phoenix Magazine.

His professional interests have included the desire to promote the newer functional training and rehabilitation that he believes will be the future standard for the training and rehabilitating of athletes in sports medicine.

Mary Ana McGlasson MN, ARNP, FNP
Mary Ana McGlasson

Mary Ana recently relocated here from Seattle, Washington where she worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in adolescent and women’s healthcare. She completed the Master’s of Nursing program at University of Washington and completed her undergraduate education in Chicago. As an RN, she worked primarily in trauma and cardiac ICU where she developed a love for people and challenging medical cases. In her free time, Mary Ana enjoys traveling, watching and/or playing sports, and hanging out with her beloved beagle Daisy.

Amy Jo Overlin, M.D.
Amy Jo Overlin

Dr. Amy Jo Overlin is the newest member of the ASU sports medicine faculty. A Waukesha Wisconsin native she comes to us having graduated medical school from Indiana University and completing a family medicine residency at Waukesha Family Medicine Center.  After residency she spent the next year completing the sports medicine fellowship at Arizona State .  Dr. Overlin graduated from Ball State University with a BS in Exercise Science with a pre-med emphasis while being a scholarship athlete for the BSU gymnastics team.

 In her free time Dr. Overlin loves spending time with her two children Andrew and Samantha and her husband Matt. Matt is the physician assistant to Dr. Dean Cummings, ASU's Chief Orthopedic Consultant.

Nubia Porras is Board Certified family Practitioner who enjoys working with adolescents in the acute care setting.

Ann Ryan, GYN N.P.
Ann Ryan

Ann Ryan was born in Chicago and came to ASU for undergraduate education. After receiving a B.S. degree in nursing, she relocated to San Francisco and worked for the City and County Health Department in public Health. She returned to ASU for graduate studies and received a M.S. degree plus certificate as a Nurse Practitioner. Her clinical practice has been Women's Health with a main interest in family planning.

Vandana Sinha, M.D.
Vandana Sinha

Vandana Sinha is a staff physician at ASU Campus Health and Wellness Center. She has been on staff since 2000 on a part-time basis. Medical education was at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and University of Maryland. She completed her family practice residency in York, Pennsylvania at the York Medical and Trauma Hospital. She is board certified in Family Practice with certification to perform non-high risk obstetrics. Prior to coming to ASU she was in private practice in Tempe for six years. Dr. Sinha works in the Acute Care Clinic and at the West Campus Student Health Center. She enjoys working with the students and practicing medicine in the University setting.

Pamela Tom, M.D.
Pamela Tom

Dr. Tom graduated from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1980. She is board certified in Pediatrics and fellowship trained in Adolescent Medicine. She received her training from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Tom has been working at ASU Campus Health since 1985 and has a special interest in seeing students with Eating Disorders.

Dr. Tom is married and has three children.

Dorthy Trimmer

Dorothy Trimmer is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, with a special interest in the acute care medicine, woman's health, and emotional health.

Deanne Wilson, R.D.

Deanne Wilson is a Registered Dietitian. She attended Arizona State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition. She specializes in Eating Disorders and weight loss with a non-diet approach. Deanne also provides Medical Nutrition Therapy and nutrition education for a variety of health conditions and illnesses. She worked at Remuda Ranch inpatient treatment center for Eating Disorders and is also part of the Eating Disorder Treatment Team at ASU.

Deanne also enjoys cooking, walking with her dogs, and spending time with her husband, friends, and family.
