Tutoring
The TRiO Program offers comprehensive tutoring services for program participants. We are here to help you in your academic endeavors at ASU. TRiO Tutors are also students; as such, they have to attend classes, take tests, write papers and fulfill all the obligations of student life. |
They have proven themselves successful at all of these functions and are here to help you learn to be successful as well.
Class Assistance
Every semester we help students improve their class performance. The TRiO tutoring staff can assist students with 100 and 200 level classes. When a program participant matriculates to the junior or senior level, the TRiO Program will hire a specialized tutor to assist with upper division classes.
Tutoring Format
The TRiO Tutoring Program specializes in one-on-one tutoring. Starting Fall Semester 2004, on-line tutoring will also be available. Participants in the same class who would like group tutoring can contact the TRiO Academic Enhancement Coordinator who will arrange the group sessions. Please come to the Matthews Center to locate a tutor on the Tutoring Board. You can then email the tutor to set-up tutoring sessions. Tutors click here to begin online tutoring session
Scheduling
The tutor and tutee decide on the duration of each session; students may work up to three hours in one session. The tutor and tutee also decide the location of the sessions. There is limited space in the Matthews Center, therefore students are encouraged to meet at the campus libraries. All tutoring must take place on the main campus. Depending on the schedule of each tutor, the tutee may arrange morning, afternoon, evening or weekend sessions.
Code of Conduct
All participants using the TRIO tutoring services must abide by the Arizona Board of Regents, STA 104-01: Student Code of Conduct, which sets forth the standards of conduct expected of students. The TRIO Program does not accept inappropriate behavior, cheating or plagiarism. |
