Careertest@asu Workshops

  • Career Interest Exploration Workshop
    • This workshop helps you learn about your interests and how they can shape your major or career choices. Workshop objectives include:
    • Gain knowledge about the ASU Life Span Career Development Model
    • Gain knowledge about the ASU Life Span Career Development Model
    • Be able to apply this model to more effectively explore careers
    • Understand the concept of Person-Environment Fit
    • Clarify what the Strong Interest Inventory measures
    • Understand the meaning of your scores on the four scales of the Strong Interest Inventory
    • Gain tools for following up on occupations and majors of interest to you
    • Become familiar with resources available on-line and through ASU Career Services

The Strong Interest Inventory (SII) is required for the Career Interest Exploration Workshop- the SII measures your interests and how they compare with the interests of people successfully working in a wide range of occupations.

  • Personal Style Exploration Workshop
    • This workshop helps you understand how personality type may influence how comfortable you feel in workplace situations. Workshop objectives include:
    • Increase Awareness of self and confirm self-perception
    • Learn about differences in perception (how people take in information), judgement (how people make decisions), and energy source (whether people prefer the outer or inner world)
    • Learn what is your preferred style
    • Learn to increase the use of your non-preferred style
    • Appreciate the gifts and strengths of myself and others
    • Learn how your preferences may affect:
      • How you approach tasks
      • How you organize your life
      • Your interactions with others

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is required for the Personal Style Workshop- the MBTI identifies personal style preferences affecting how we interact with others, take in information, make decisions, and organize our daily lives.
