Hand-me-down Dreams:
Understanding Family Influences on Career Decision-making

About PDI

The PDI was established in 2001 to meet the needs of the region’s growing number of career professionals.  The program offers an economical tool to enhance your ability to provide ethical, informed and timely advisement to your students and clients.

Over the years there have been many supporters of the program.  This year several organizations provided financial support to our endeavor.

Praise of PDI

“I believe (The Professional Development Institute) to be one of the best career related professional development opportunities available!  The workshops are very applicable to work with those struggling to overcome barriers to career development.  Each of the workshops has had significant implications for our careertest@asu program, and for me in my individual work as a psychologist.  In addition, the nationally renowned speakers have been truly inspirational- I’ve walked away with renewed energy for this work. If you work in the career field and have the opportunity, it will be worth your time to attend this workshop!”

“I have attended close to all of the PDIs you have offered, and every one of them has been very much worth the trip from Tucson. Now that I’m living in Phoenix, I can’t wait to see what new experiences you have in store for us! Thanks for all the great programs, and keep up the good work!”

“As an academic advisor assisting students who are exploring majors and careers, the annual Career Services Professional Development programs have informed my advising methods and approach to students... I look forward to this event every year and believe I am a better advisor for attending.”
