IMPORTANT SPRING 2006 CHANGES

Payment of Tuition and Student Accounts Receivable Charges

eCheck Payments

Beginning November 1, 2005, students will be able to pay Tuition and Student Accounts Receivable charges with an electronic on-line eCheck.  Similar to a debit card, the eCheck electronically debits a checking or savings account.

  • eChecks are ASU’s preferred payment method and will be accepted with no convenience fee or additional cost to the student.
  • eCheck is a fast and simple payment method.
  • eCheck is an available payment option on ASU Interactive, “Pay Your ASU Charges”.
  • Instead of your debit card number, you will need your bank's routing number and your account number.  This number is available on the bottom of your check or from your financial institution.

No Involuntary Disenrollment for Spring 2006

Beginning with the Spring 2006 semester, ASU is discontinuing the practice of involuntarily dropping students from classes if payment is not made by the applicable tuition payment deadline.  Instead, non-financial aid students neglecting to make payment by the tuition payment deadline will be enrolled in the Tuition Installment Plan.  Tuition charges will be billed on Student Accounts Receivable in three installments and a nonrefundable $75 enrollment fee will be assessed.

For financial aid students with aid awarded prior to the applicable tuition payment deadline, tuition charges will automatically be billed on student accounts receivable and there is no longer a requirement to acknowledge through Tuition Services.  (Loan acceptance is a separate process and must still be completed.)

  • Pre-registration is the best opportunity to enroll in classes.
  • Non-financial aid students neglecting to make payment or drop classes prior to the tuition payment deadline (December 13, 2005 and daily thereafter), will be enrolled in the Tuition Installment Plan and assessed a $75 nonrefundable enrollment fee.  You will not be dropped from your classes.
  • If financial aid is awarded prior to the tuition payment deadline, no tuition payment action is required.  Tuition will automatically be billed on Student Accounts Receivable and financial aid will be applied toward that account.
  • You will not be dropped from classes for non-payment of tuition and fees, which preserves your class schedule and avoids the necessity to re-register.  Note:  with the preservation of student’s schedules, classes will not open after the tuition payment deadline as they have in the past.
  • To avoid withdrawal fees and the nonrefundable tuition installment plan fee, drop all Spring 2006 classes prior to the initial tuition payment deadline (December 13, 2005) if you do not plan to attend ASU in the Spring.

Enrollment in classes completes the registration process.  By registering for classes you agree to pay all applicable tuition and registration fees.
