UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC COUNCIL
|
The University Academic Council (UAC) consists of the following representatives from each campus’s academic senate/academic assembly: president, president-elect, and immediate past-president. Beginning in 2006-2007, one of the senate/assembly presidents will chair the UAC, with the following rotation: Polytechnic, West, Tempe, and Downtown. The University Academic Council facilitates articulation among all the campus senates; meets regularly with the university president (or the president’s designee) to represent the interests of each senate and the faculty; advises the president on issues related to faculty governance; helps harmonize and synchronize university-wide curricular issues; and appoints and oversees university-wide governance committees. The senate presidents serve as members of the President’s University Council. Members of the UAC and three members of university administration, as appointed by the president of the university, are responsible for monitoring and reporting on the status of shared governance processes. 2007-08 Chair: Richard Gitelson, ASU at the West campus.
