Leaps & Bounds:
A Kindergarten Readiness Program
Leaps and Bounds is a Kindergarten Readiness Program for families with children preparing to enter Kindergarten - Ages 3 to 5.
The Leaps and Bounds Program educates and supports parents by providing a research-based program that is designed to increase parental involvement in the home and to help parents get their children ready for school. The goal of the Leaps and Bounds program is to ensure that children are entering school ready to learn and to increase the likelihood that they will become productive citizens later in life. During the Leaps and Bounds Program, parents are provided with the information necessary to help them become their child’s first teacher. The program provides parent education and support to underserved families of high need throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan area in four major ways, referred to as the program modules.
Mission of the Leaps and Bounds Program
- To enhance the community with a research-based program providing parents and family members with theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to prepare their children for kindergarten.
- To provide support and confidence in parents as their child’s first teacher.
- To ease the transition from home to school.
