Alternative Spring Break

Are you interested in getting a first hand look at Arizona border issues?  Here is a chance for you to experience what is really going on at our borders by seeing the divisive issue of illegal immigration from multiple perspectives!.

Join us for our alternative spring break with Humane Borders!

Tour the U.S. Border Patrol facilities in the morning and help distribute water to migrants the very same afternoon. Participants will have an “up close and personal” hands-on experience which will include direct service activities, meaningful dialogue, evening orientations and informative documentaries about migration. Dinners will be an enjoyable multicultural tasting experiences. 

Please meet at ASU Tempe campus at the Grady Gammage parking lot # 3 (Forest and Lemon Streets) on Monday, March 10th at 3:00pm. We will return on Wednesday, March 12th around 10pm.

All meals and transportation will be provided. You only need to pay a non- refundable registration fee of $30 for lodging. Designed specifically for ASU students and limited to 15 participants.

Download, complete and return both the Humane Borders Spring Break 2008 Application Download, complete and return the Humane Borders Program Registration Humane Boarders Spring Break 2008 Application with your $30 non-refundable registration fee to the IRC (SSV 278) by Feb. 22, 2008.

Once all paper work and registration fees are collected, candidates will partake in an informal interview with Teresita Hurtado during the week of
Feb 25-28. Selected participants will be notified by Feb 29, 2008.
Please note that the registration fee will only be refunded to those students who are not selected.
