IRC Diversity Scholar Series

The IRC Diversity Scholar Series provides an opportunity for discourse with nationally and internationally recognized scholars on the topic of diversity in higher education. Each semester, an eminent researcher, policy expert, or master teacher is invited to campus to discuss challenges and innovations pertaining to diversity in the academy.

Each scholar series begins with an evening keynote address and reception open to the campus and surrounding community. The next day, the scholar leads two distinct workshops. One session, geared for research faculty and graduate students, focuses on theoretical and empirical issues with the scholars' area of expertise. The second workshop emphasizes practical applications of the work and is designed to benefit ASU student support and programming staff.

Participants will get exposure to cutting-edge work of diversity scholars, have the opportunity to engage in stimulating discussions in small group formats, and incorporate new ideas into their own research and teaching. Support staff will learn how to translate theory into practice.

There is no pre-registration for the evening keynote. Pre-registration is required for the two workshops. Space is limited, so please sign up early
