Emeritus Voices is published by the Emeritus College at ASU to provide a medium for the creative writing and other works of its members, friends and associates. It will be published in electronic (on-line) and high quality print forms. The latter will be made available through paid subscription.

The current issue of Emeritus Voices is available now by clicking the Journal link to the left. Anyone having work to submit for consideration in the next issue should send it to the Editor, Charles Brownson. The following policies govern the receipt and acceptance of submissions:

  1. The journal will consider articles in all subjects, poetry, fiction, artwork.
  2. Only electronic (digital) manuscripts or graphics will be considered, with Word or pdf preferred. (However, the manuscript and graphics services of The Emeritus Press may be made available to Emeritus College members to assist in the electronic preparation of their work.) An acknowledgement of submission will be made within a week or so. (If you are not acknowledged there may be trouble with a spam blocker. Consult Maureen Graff in the Emeritus College.)
  3. The Journal editors invite submissions from anyone. Members of the Emeritus College at ASU or any other emeritus organization associated with AROHE (Association of Retirement Organizations in Higher Education) may have their work published at no cost. Submissions from ASU emeriti and emeritae who are not yet members of the Emeritus College will be considered ipso facto intent to apply for membership.  The completed application along with the standard monetary contribution must be received at or before notification of acceptance.
  4. Submissions from non-ASU emeriti will be charged a $30 publication fee upon acceptance.
  5. Emeriti/ae from other institutions may, of course, be accepted as Associate Members in the College, according to College Bylaws, and their publication fee will be waived upon receipt of their membership application. A similar policy governs submissions by those who would be eligible for Affiliiate Member status.
