The Emeritus College does however support the Faculty Emeriti Association by lending administrative support and providing a meeting place for Faculty Emeriti Association officers when needed.
BY-LAWS
ASU FACULTY EMERITI ASSOCIATION
Article I NAME
The name of this organization shall be the ASU Faculty Emeriti Association.
Article II Purpose
The purpose of this association shall be to provide regular social interaction for all faculty emeriti of Arizona State University and their guests, under university sponsorship.
Article III Membership
Any ASU faculty member who retires and is granted emeritus status is eligible for regular membership.
Article IV Officers
The officers of this association shall be President, President-Elect, and Secretary. These officers, with the Immediate Past President, will constitute the Executive Committee of this organization, and shall be charged with such administration and planning for its meetings as shall be required. Terms of office shall be for one academic year. Officers will normally rotate through the three offices.
Article V Meetings
The regular meetings of this association shall be luncheon meetings, for a total of four, usually two each semester. If necessary, special meetings may be called by the Executive Committee.
Article VI Committees
A. Standing committees
1. Program Committee.
The President-Elect shall chair the program committee, with at least two other members appointed from the membership at large by the Executive Committee.
2. Nominating Committee.
The Immediate Past President shall chair this committee, with two other members appointed by the Executive Committee.
B. Special committees.
The Executive Committee shall appoint ad hoc committees as needed.
Article VII Elections
Election of officers shall be held during the final luncheon meeting .The Nominating Committee shall insert in the meeting notice a report to the membership of a slate of officers for the coming academic year.
Article VIII Parliamentary Authority
Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised, latest edition, shall be the parliamentary authority for this organization in all particulars not specified in these by-laws.
Article IX Amendments
These by-laws may be amended at any regular meeting by a two-thirds vote of the member present, providing the proposed amendments are included in the meeting notice.
