Roster of Boards, Committees, and Councils

INTRODUCTION

The Roster of Boards, Committees, and Councils includes the membership of committees, boards, councils, and other bodies that serve the university in an advisory, policy-making, or hearing role for the continued advancement of the institution. A brief description of the responsibilities of each body precedes the membership listing. Unless specifically noted to the contrary, all members listed, including ex officio appointees, are voting members.

Chairs appear in boldface type. An appointment ends on August 15 of the year listed. If a year is not shown, the appointment is for one year but may be extended by election or appointment.

Committees subject to the provisions of the Open Meeting Law are indicated by an asterisk(*). See the policy governing committees required to hold open meetings.

Inquiries concerning the Roster may be directed to the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost of the University.

Academic Senate and Senate Committees

The Academic Senate is an advisory body representing the Academic Assembly. The senate committees address matters including, but not limited to, administration, academic affairs, university affairs, and faculty grievances. Through the senate and its committees, issues of faculty governance are addressed. Academic senators are normally elected for a three-year term, beginning June 1. Membership on senate committees requires membership in the Academic Senate (with the exception of the Curriculum and Academic Programs Committee). Members are elected by the senate. Detailed descriptions of the functions of the senate and senate committees are included in the Academic Constitution and Bylaws, Bylaw II (ACD 112–01).
