1) Whereas, representatives of the ASU Academic Senate, including members of the Student-Faculty Policy committee, have held meetings and invited discussion on campus childcare programs and Work/Life issues, 2) Whereas, ASU’s childcare programs currently must resolve several issues, including needs assessment, partnerships with off-campus childcare centers, and financial support for low income student parents, 3) Whereas, a positive Work/Life environment is important to the campus well being, 4) Noting the importance of bringing these matters to the attention of President Michael Crow, Be It Resolved that the Academic Senate encourages leaders of the university to remain attentive to the needs of faculty, staff, and students with children, and to continue to support measures aimed at quality Work/Life.”

The Student Faculty Policy Committee met on October 9, and will continue to serve as a fact-finding, investigative arm of the Senate on procedural and policy issues that effect the campus.  At that meeting, the committee received an update on travel procedure from Penny Meyers of the Payables and Reimbursement Office.  The advice is “Plan Early” before you travel and contact Penny should you have any sticky questions that need an answer up front. Rates and tips are also available on the Comptrollers Web site.
