Tools for Evaluating My Courses

If you have taken, or plan to take courses from an Arizona public community college you may use our search and planning tools to determine the transferability of your courses.

  • CEG - The Course Equivalency Guide indicates how Arizona State University accepts transfer coursework from the Arizona public institutions. The course equivalencies indicated on the CEG are based on the semester and year that the course was taken. Applicability of the transfer credit to completion of major requirements at the universities is not indicated in the CEG.
  • CAS - Course Applicability System provides information on how your specific coursework will transfer and apply to a degree at a CAS institution. Have you ever wondered if a class you are taking will transfer to ASU? Or perhaps you are planning on transferring and want to make sure the classes you take next semester will fulfill a requirement for your major of general education requirements. CAS will assist you with these questions and much more.
  • Transfer General Studies Search. This search engine, driven by the Course Equivalency Guide (CEG) allow you to seek transfer courses from Arizona public community colleges that meet a particular general studies designation at ASU. Like the CEG, course equivalencies indicated on the CEG are based on the semester and year that the course is taken.
  • AGEC Courses. The Arizona General Education Curriculum is a common structure for transfer General Education Curriculum. This search tool allows you to determine which courses may be used in the AGEC for each public Arizona Community College.

If you have taken or plan to take courses from an institution other than an Arizona community college (including NAU, UofA, and institutions outside of Arizona), review our General Studies Guidelines, Academic Programs requirements and course descriptions to determine whether the courses you selected are similar to ASU courses. ASU does not evaluate courses in advance of an offer of admission.

  • ASU General Studies Criteria. Courses from institutions other than Arizona community colleges are evaluated by an ASU advisor using the criteria for ASU General Studies. Although transfer credits are not evaluated in advance of an offer of admission, you may want to review the guidelines and criteria used by advisors to make a determination. The only way to know for certain how you courses will transfer is receive an offer of admission from ASU and have you courses evaluated by an ASU advisor.
  • Degree Search and Curriculum Check Sheets. Review the academic programs available at ASU and the types of courses required for them. Working with your local advisor you may use the course descriptions in the ASU Catalogue. to locate courses that are similar to ASU courses.
  • Program Advisor List. Schedule an appointment with your program are advisor to determine the transferability of coursework taken outside of Arizona.
