Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the beginning of the 2009-2010 GPSA Conference Travel and Professional Development Travel Programs. Applications to both programs will be accepted beginning tomorrow morning, July 1. Please visit the GPSA website (http://gpsa.asu.edu) and click on ‘Funding & Grants’ to view detailed application instructions along with information on our other funding opportunities. Details on the Research Grant Competition and Student Organization/Event Funding for 2009-2010 will be made available on the website within the month.

Conference Travel Grant
GPSA offers Conference Travel Grants for students attending regional, national and international professional conferences. The maximum award is $750 annually. Grants are awarded on a competitive basis and are not guaranteed. Grants will be awarded monthly for travel occurring from August 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010. GPSA only accepts online applications for this program. Please note: since GPSA is experiencing a budget cut for this program, we ask that you only apply in the month immediately preceding the month you wish to travel (i.e. in September for Travel in October).

Professional Development Grant
GPSA offers Professional Development Travel Grants for students attending professional development workshops, training, exhibitions, competitions, and interviews/auditions for internships resulting in academic credit. Travel falling under the Conference Travel program (see above) is NOT eligible for this competition. The maximum award is $750 annually. Grants are awarded on a competitive basis and are not guaranteed. Grants will be awarded monthly for travel occurring from August 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010. GPSA only accepts online applications for this program, which you can complete by visiting the website link above for more information. Please note: since GPSA is experiencing a budget cut for this program, we ask that you only apply in the month immediately preceding the month you wish to travel (i.e. in September for Travel in October).

Should you have any questions about these programs, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
