The next ATIC Public Meeting is still scheduled for Thursday, September 17, 2009, however we are shifting the time to Noon-2:30 PM and location to the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix Campus. We have a great program scheduled on telehealth, electronic medical records, and consumer privacy with some great speakers from government and industry, exhibitors, and free lunch. Program details to follow. There is no charge to attend, lunch will be served, however parking will cost you a few dollars. Further details and web conference instructions can be found online at http://www.arizonatele.com/atic/meetings.html.
Additional ATIC Public Meetings will be held on November 19, 2009 in conjunction with InfraGard Phoenix focused on cyber security and on February 18, 2010 with our annual Arizona High Tech Policy Overview returning to our regular time and place, the law firm of Lewis & Roca LLP.
ATIC Board Meetings are devoted to telecommunications policy engagement and driving economic development for the State of Arizona by our broad public/private coalition. The next ATIC Board Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2009 from Noon-2PM at Lewis & Roca in Phoenix. Our Board Meetings are open to all interested parties and we welcome your participation. These are exciting times for the telecom industry and Arizona in our evolving economy. Please join us live or remote via audio conference (details at http://www.arizonatele.com/atic/board.html) in making it happen and moving our state and high-tech industries forward.
Future Board Meetings are scheduled for October 14 and November
18 at the same time and place. If you would also like to opt in as an
ATIC Associate at no charge and receive our Board Meeting agendas and
minutes, as well as occasional special
announcements, send us an e-mail
at mailto:atic@researchedge.com.
ATIC Strategy Committee has been busy meeting virtually and also held an extended strategic planning session on April 22 for regional broadband stakeholders. We are recommending the creation of an Arizona Broadband Council (ABC) consisting of public and private stakeholders to provide management and oversight of broadband development in Arizona and are working with the Governor’s Office and GITA to make it happen. ATIC has filed formal comments in response to the FCC Notice of Inquiry in the matter of a National Broadband Plan for Our Future. ATIC is also forming a Network and Broadband Provider Committee to focus on private sector issues in the Telecommunications industry in Arizona. Additionally, ATIC has launched a new Arizona Telecommunications & Information Institute (ATI Institute) as a separate and distinct 501(c)(3) non-profit under a research and education classification to pursue specific initiatives championed by various coalitions providing oversight and fiscal management. If you’d like to be involved, please visit our homepage and subscribe to the ATIC-Strategy List for conducting the business of the Strategy Committee and related dialogue among participants and our ATIC-Policy List for postings of technology and telecommunications policy news.
ATIC now in its 14th year, would like to thank the following companies
for continuing with their major sponsorship of the organization: Cox
Business Services (CBS - http://www.coxbusiness.com/systems/az_phoenix/),
Lewis and Roca (http://www.lrlaw.com/),
Qwest Communications (http://www.qwest.com/), and WI-VOD
Corporation (http://www.wi-vod.com/).
Please let us know if you'd be interested in sponsoring ATIC’s activities
and initiatives while enhancing your visibility within the technology and
telecom community. More information on ATIC, its events and activities
can be found on our website at http://www.arizonatele.com/atic/ or
you can contact us at 602-254-5887 or mailto:atic@researchedge.com.
