Residency Classification Appeals Board
The Residency Classification Appeals Board is seeking volunteers from the ASU community to serve on its board. It is a decision-making board, authorized by the Arizona Board of Regents and the university president, to hear appeals on student residency classification.
Student appeals are made at hearings. Each hearing includes one chairperson and at least two board members who review the student’s residency file prior to the hearing. The board decides whether the student has met qualifications for in-state tuition based on ABOR and ASU guidelines.
This is a unique way to serve the ASU community. Board members are required to participate in two to three hearings each semester. Both faculty and staff are eligible for the committee. If you have interest in joining, or for more information, contact Maria Rivera, in the Residency Classification office at maria.e.rivera@asu.edu, or 480-965-7751.
