What is the Process?
The process of developing a comprehensive campus master plan will require more than a year of discussion, research, and concept development. The principles guiding the physical design and character of an institution are the same as those affecting its academic undertaking. Reciprocity between the academic mission and the physical plan is the foundation of the design philosophy. All interested stakeholders are involved to ensure incremental implementation and support.
The master planning effort addresses the following areas for all academic, recreation, student life, and research facilities:
- Programming
- Land use
- Architectural massing
- Design guidelines
- Implementation strategies
