The Queen Bee

YOU awake in the night
will never be againyou are as nothing
of night and suspended

you lie staring into the dark,

the subconscioushaving slept,

is clear.
unrevealed.

I do not know what woke me.
outside my window
their voices
drugged moment I lay staring into the dark.

hyacinths--pink and purple--the firelight

living, all of them, hardly noticed then. We forgot--
gone forever,miracles vested with radiance

"What am I doing here?
There was
no place for me anywhere.

belonging nowhere.

"I found it on a snowdrift
