Caroline Bergvall

Working Note

Flèsh acoeur was first developed to be one part of the Volumes of Vulnerability artists’ books project produced by Gefn Press (London, 2000). It is a tribute to four writers who, for all their cultural differences, share a trance-like understanding of the connections between text and physicality, between violence and verbal illumination, between the intimate and the public facets of sexual desire as also a desire for writing. In each their way, and these were frequently at odds with the declared values of their time, they explored and pushed such connections both in their work and in their body. Flèsh has been redesigned specifically for HOW2 with invaluable help from Anya Lewin.
