As much air or water bound by earth

as if the mantle had fallen
far from here lit in its light
And charred to loam what meant as green
The ribboned scent spread flat as air
forced under pressure to engrave
leaves an impression
Shadowy sequoia and red mudded shale
rocks loose in windward breaks
The apex dies at dusk time
Blue tree trunks line the black
on black sky
