LITERARY SALONS

In 2005 we launched a new development initiative, the Piper Center Literary Salon Series, meant to generate funds and investment from the community, to reach out into new circles of interest.

Community members are invited to attend a private, intimate dinner party with a distinguished writer. After dinner there is a brief program, where the guest of honor reads from his/her body of work and/or answers guests' questions. After the program, guests are given a brief overview of Piper Center programs and are invited to become a Friend of the Piper Center by making a charitable contribution. These events are held either in an Advisory Council member's home or in the Piper Writers House.

ORGANIZATIONAL SPONSORSHIPS

Making a gift to the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing is an investment in community enrichment as well as higher education. The Center encourages organizations to contribute to the cultural community by becoming a sponsor of the Desert Night, Rising Stars ASU Writers Conference or the Distinguished Visiting Writers Series.
