Mary-Rose Hayes

Mary-Rose HayesMary-Rose Hayes is the best-selling author of eight novels in various genres including horror, suspense, romantic adventure and, most recently, Blind Trust, her second political thriller co-authored with U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer. Her books have been translated into 15 languages and have regularly been Doubleday Book of the Month and Literary Guild main selections. Amethyst (E.P. Dutton, 1991) was a TIME/LIFE bestseller condensation. She has just completed her 9th novel, What She Had To Do, the first of a trilogy involving the ripple effects of war on three generations. She has published short stories and articles in England and the United States, and has written several screenplays. She has worked as a script editor for Thames Television, London, England; and as Associate Editor for Pacific News Service, San Francisco. She has taught creative writing at Arizona State University and the University of California, Berkeley; at numerous writers' seminars in California and Nevada; and for twelve years was a workshop leader at the Squaw Valley Writers Conference. She is currently co-director of the Peralta Writing Course, Tuscany, Italy. She began writing classes for returned female combat verterans in July 2011.
