Astronomy Fair
The Astronomy Fair is a
science-based program for students in kindergarten through fourth grade that is conducted in conjunction with the STARLAB portable planetarium. The program’s curriculum establishes connections between astronomy and a variety of subject areas including mathematics, language arts, and social studies.

Using actual decisions rendered by the U.S. Supreme Court, middle school students are introduced to logical problem solving during classroom presentations.
Kaleidoscope
Kaleidoscope is an academic enrichment experience. This experience links the performing arts and the educational
community by providing a theatrical experience for
middle and high school students. The program recognizes, encourages,
and motivates students who do not have the opportunity to
experience cultural events such as Broadway productions at
ASU’s Gammage Auditorium. Kaleidoscope is a collaborative
effort between the Office of Youth Preparation and ASU Public
Events.
Leaps & Bounds: A Kindergarten Readiness Program
Leaps and Bounds is a kindergarten readiness program for families with three- to five-year old children. Leaps and Bounds, a research-based program, aims to ensure children enter school ready for success by increasing parental involvement in the home. Through a series of family-interactive workshops, parents are provided with the knowledge and support that are necessary to help them become their child’s first teacher. Families engage in activities that can be done at home and in the environment at relatively no cost. These activities help parents understand that learning can take place anywhere, including the home and can be very inexpensive. Activities are aligned with the Arizona Readiness and Kindergarten Standards to ensure that children are being prepared for the standards set forth by the U.S. Department of Education.

Programs for Talented Youth
Programs for Talented Youth is a program at Arizona State
University’s Tempe Campus that offers talented third
through seventh grade students an opportunity to experience
challenging courses from a variety of academic disciplines.
Utilizing the University’s resources, the program is
designed to provide students with courses that are interdisciplinary,
enriching, and stimulating. These educational opportunities
are provided on a year round basis: a three-week program in
the summer, and a six-week Saturday program in the fall and
spring.

Young Writers Program
The Young Writers Program (YWP) provides arts-based opportunities for Arizona students in grades 4-12 to experience writing as a powerful means of self-discovery and expression, while simultaneously addressing important writing concepts found in state academic standards. YWP operates primarily in schools and community-based organizations where Master of Fine Arts students from ASU’s Creative Writing Program visit classrooms to lead students through innovative writing lessons during artistic residencies, ranging in length from three to six weeks.
