Application and Admission Requirements

Interested candidates must be admitted to ASU before submitting their application to CONACYT.

Applications to ASU should be submitted online directly to the Division of Graduate Studies. Applicants should indicate on the application (in the scholarship program section) that they are applying in connection with the CONACYT program. Applications will be evaluated according to the appropriate criteria established by each ASU department.

Please note:
  • CONACYT does not cover the $50 application fee for ASU.
  • ASU and CONACYT conduct separate application processes; acceptance to one does not guarantee acceptance to the other.
  • No incomplete applications will be considered by either institution.
  • Applicants do not need a financial guarantee to apply to ASU. They must indicate on their ASU application that they are applying under the ASU-CONACYT agreement. Upon acceptance by CONACYT and following ASU approval, the student will be issued a DS-2019 form for visa processing.
All Mexican graduate students, or prospective graduate students, are eligible to apply for this fellowship, providing they meet the admissions criteria established by ASU and the application criteria established by CONACYT. Programs not currently funded by CONACYT fellowships include fine arts, business administration (MBA) and law. For specific information about the general requirements listed below, please refer to the ASU and CONACYT websites.
