Focus on Fusion

When it comes to computer informatics, Sethuraman Panchanathan, director of ASU's new School of Computing Informatics, says the future lies in the concept of fusion. Whether it is science, art or social science, he says the key is blending or fusing the disciplines – defining the computing needs for a specific discipline and learning from others. Panchanathan says the school is living that concept and bringing in faculty from throughout the university, and exposing students to that fusion of disciplines.
