You can have ASU news sent straight to your inbox. There are two ways to receive news updates - by subscribing to a listserv or an RSS feed.
What is a listserv?
A listserv is a service you can sign up for to have news releases and events sent directly to your e-mail inbox. News releases are usually posted to each list Monday through Friday in the morning and the afternoon.
What types of listservs are there?
- ASUNews List
The ASUNews List receives copies of all Media Relations releases, including monthly event calendars. This is the list that will receive the most information - all releases available electronically are available here.
To subscribe, email Listserv@asu.edu, and send the message "Subscribe ASUNews."
- ASUSci List
The ASUSci List only receives copies of research and science related activities at ASU. This is a subset of the ASUNews List.
To subscribe, email Listserv@asu.edu, and send the message "Subscribe ASUSci."
- ASUEnter List
The ASUEnter List receives only copies of entertainment releases and art activities at ASU. Subscribe here.
To subscribe, email Listserv@asu.edu, and send the message "Subscribe ASUEnter."
- ASURTV List
A list designed to meet the needs of radio and television stations. The list concentrates on events and stories with visual and audio interest.
To subscribe, email Listserv@asu.edu, and send the message "Subscribe ASURTV."
- ASUEvent List
The ASUEvent List receives items and events that are placed in ASU Insight's @ASU section. Features meetings, conference, entertainment, sports and exhibitions.
Subscribe here.
For all subscriptions you will receive a confirmation notice via your e-mail account. You must respond to the confirmation notice to activate your subscription.
Note: You may subscribe to as many lists as you wish, however if you subscribe to more than one list, you will receive duplicate copies of most news releases.
What if I'm having problems?
AOL users may experience difficulty in signing up if you have multiple alias names. If you experience difficulties, please check with AOL for instructions on how to subscribe to a listserv.

What is an RSS feed?
RSS is a web content syndication format. The acronym stand for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary.
Websites that support such simple syndication provide their content in a format that can be read by news aggregator client software. Links to these specifically formatted pages are often referred to as "feeds" due to the dynamic nature of how often they can be updated. A desktop RSS aggregator works by periodically checking on subscribed feeds for new content. When new posts are found, usually a portion of that post such as the title and perhaps a short excerpt from the article are displayed. The fully story can be linked to open in a separate web browser, or in some cases in the news aggregator itself.
