This was a popular medical poem, or verses on health, from the School of Salerno, an important medieval medical school.   Each chapter begins with a verse about its subject, followed by an in-depth annotation.  Verses are given in both Latin and German.  Printed margin notes help guide the reader, and there is also a complete index.  The short verses could easily be committed to memory and allow the physician to recall the information.

Subjects: Health; Medicinal plants.
