Goodman and Gilman's Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics
AHFS Drug Information
(via Stat!Ref)

Goodman and Gilman's gives a detailed review of the pharmacology of drugs. Look for information on the history, source, mechanisms of action, absorption/distribution/elimination, uses, and the corresponding literature references (located at the end of each chapter). Each chapter covers a specific therapeutic class of drugs in detail; usually the beginning of the chapter discusses the history and pharmacology of the class and then each drug is discussed individually. See also Chapters 1 and 2 for good overviews of the processes involved with pharmacokinetics (absorption, distribution and elimination) and pharmacodynamics (mechanism of action). This title is available in Noble Library in a print version, RM300 .G644 2001 Science Reference.

AHFS Drug Information provides unbiased and evidence-based information for drugs available in the U.S. Each drug record contains information about use, dosage, administration, cautions, interactions, toxicity, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, chemistry, stability, and preparations (the make up of the drug in commerical form, not the chemical synthesis) plus supporting literature references.
