Combined Chemical Dictionary

How to Find a Synthesis in the Combined Chemical Dictionary:

 






 

Search Strategy:
  1. Click on the Combined Chemical Dictionary link above and then click on the underlined title.

  2. Scroll the Searching screen down until the "Chemical Name" search box appears.

  3. Type in your compound name in the Chemical Name box. Click on the "Search" button on the lower left of the screen.

  4. On the results page, click on the entry for your compound.

  5. To see the structure, click on the "view structure" link. To print the structure, right click in the window and select "print" from the menu.

  6. Literature references are located at the bottom of the record. Look for references labeled synth (synthesis).

How to Find a Review Article in the Combined Chemical Dictionary:

 







 



Search Strategy:
  1. Click on the Combined Chemical Dictionary link above and then click on the underlined title.

  2. Scroll the Searching screen down until the "Chemical Name" search box appears.

  3. Type in your compound name in the Chemical Name box. Click on the "Search" button on the lower left of the screen.

  4. On the results page, click on the entry for your compound.

  6. Literature references are located at the bottom of the record. Look for references labeled rev (review).
