The microfiche consists of volumes 1-8 (1970-1978); volumes 9-  (in hard copy) are located in the same call number in Reference Stacks. Note that these hard copy issues contain microfiche in pockets. The paper portion of this publication contains bibliographical descriptions and one line abstracts. A serial nu;mber refers to the full abstract, which appears on the microfiche. These detailed abstracts sometimes include statistical tables and even excerpts from documents. Arrangement is by country, with subdivisions by major topics, such as economic theory and planning; foreign trade; social policy; labor; management. The abstracted articles are from a variety of newspapers (Pravda, Investiya) and periodicals. All abstracts are in English. It is a chronological listing of the Text is in English. The last fiche is an index in Russian. Also contains a complete description of the collection.  SCOPE AND CONTENTS:  Diplomatic dispatches copied from the Sbornik of the Imperial Russian Historical Society, which collected the documents from a variety of Russian and British sources. The dispatches are in English or French while the table of contents and footnotes are in Russian. Provides a great mass of information about the relations between two of the major powers of Europe and therefore, indirectly, about international relations in general during the 18th century. RUSSIA CORRESPONDENCE, 1892-1948.  CALL NUMBER: University of Arizona Library.  NUMBER OF REELS/FICHE:  INDEX OR GUIDE: ASU owns a guide covering 1906-1913 and 1919-1940 (DA 47.65 .B7x Stacks); one covering 1906-1945 (DA 47.65 .B72x Stacks) and a series of eight volumes covering 1881-1948 (DA 47.65 .B73x Stacks). Each guide consists of two sections: 1) Reel guide, listing each file in chronological order. Includes a brief description of contents;     2) File index: a list of file numbers, giving reel, volume and page numbers.  SCOPE AND CONTENTS: These papers, describing British foreign affairs with Russia, consist primarily of communications between the Foreign Office and various British embassies and consulates in Russia and surrounding countries. Also includes miscellaneous papers and memoranda and occasional observations of social, economic andn political events in the lives of the Russian people as reflected incidentally in dispatches of the British legation officials. The files are arranged chronologically and were bound by the Public Record Office into annual volumes. University of Arizona has the microfilm for the following years (some of which overlap): 1892-1905; 1883-1891; 1906-1913; 1906-1917; 1914-1918; 1918-1921; 1919-1940; 1941-1945; 1946-1948. Originally published as Istoriia Velikoi Otechestvennoi Voiny Sovetsdogo Soiuza by the USSR Ministry of Defense. Translated by the U. S. Army Center of Military History and the Foreign Technology Division, Air Force Systems Command. The guide is “A Digest of the Krasnyi Arkhiv.” We have vol. 2 only, which contains summaries with a subject/name index to vols. 31-106. However, there is an appendix with a list of all articles in the first 30 volumes, with volume and page references.  SCOPE AND CONTENTS: One of the most important publications of the Central Archiv of the U.S.S.R. Between 1922-1941, it published this historical journal, which contains documents found in the archives of the tsarist and Soviet governments and in various private repositories. It illuminates the social, political, economic and cultural development of Russia from the 17th century to WWII. Includes introductions written by Soviet historians. Much of the material deals with the rise of the revolutionary movement and the establishment of the Soviet regime. Included among the documents are diaries, letters, government reports, diplomatic exchanges and instructions to officials. CRL has a hardbound guide (Cumulative Index to Units 1-20), which identifies the contents of the collection by author, title and subject. This guide may be borrowed from CRL.  SCOPE AND CONTENTS: A collection of scarce pre-1917 Russian books in the humanities andn social sciences selected from the Helsinki University Library’s 300,000 volume Slavonic collection. The library was an official depository of Russian books from 1820-1917 and has the richest collection of 19th and early 20th century research material outside of the Soviet Union. Fiche collection now includes 2,146 books (units 1-20), dealing with Russian history, politics, literature and culture. The collection is expected eventually to tal 5,000 titles.
