NUMBER OF REELS/FICHE: SCOPE AND CONTENTS: The Tables are indexes to the various parts of Journal Officiel. Note that many of the series have their own indexes, usually found at the end of each year. For more information on the arrangement and indexing, see Gloria Westfall, French Official Publications, (J 341 .W47x Stacks). Tables for 1947-1972 may be borrowed from the Center for Research Libraries. In order to demonstrate the type of indexing available, the following is a list of the contents of the Table for 1927: Lois et Decrets: Subject index, followed by "Tirage Financiers," an alphabetical list of corporate names. Debats Parlementaires: separate indexes for each chamber. There is first an index to the names of speakers, followed by an annex consisting of a subject index to questions. Table des Travaux Parlementaires: a subject index. Documents Parlementarires: separate indexes for each chamber. These are chronological tables rather than subject indexes. Documents Administratifs: a subject index. Note that the Lois et Decrets series until 1984 contains an index much like the one described above. The ASU collection may lack such indexes after 1985. "French Books Before 1601: Short-title List" is a reel guide only; there is no index. Micro Ref. has a card file, which consists of cards for each title, arranged as they appear on the reels, for reels 1-140. SCOPE AND CONTENTS: Includes books printed in France or in French before 1601. All areas of knowledge and activity are represented, from Amadis de Gaula to Calvin's Catechismus to editions of Galen and Hippocrates, and other works invaluable for studies of the renaissance and the Reformation. The collection is based on, but not restricted to, titles listed in: British Museum, Short-title Catalogue of Books Printed in France and of French Books Printed in Other Countries from 1470 to 1600 (Z 21562 .B86 and Supplement). Note: these works are separated: basic vol. Is cataloged for stacks, but has BIBL label and is shelved in Ref. The supplement is correctly shelved in stacks. The books were not filmed in any particular order. In the absence of an index, it is necessary to scan the entire reel guide in order to determine which reel contains the desired book. Issued during the period of the religious wars and the establishment of the absolute monarchy, these publications provide source material on constitutional, religious, social, economic and philosophical matters. SCOPE AND CONTENTS: Some 25,000 publications collected by a wealthy Philadelphia merchant and social reformer. Totals 100 volumes from the years before the Revolution, including newspapers, legislative proceedings, speeches, almanacs and petitions. SCOPE AND CONTENTS: Consists of the texts of anti-nazi newsletters and periodicals published by underground organizations in Europe during World War II. S1030 contains publications of various foreign members of the French Resistance, written in their languages (Armenian, Spanish, Catalog, Italian, etc.) S1031 contains German language papers addressed to the occupation troops and to anti-Nazi Germans. S1032 - S1034 are similar publications in Danish, Dutch and Polish. S1035-1037 contain additional publications of the French Resistance, including those of Communist organizations.
